The Perspective that Comes with Experience
Thank you for sharing with me the advice you would give your 25 year old self. While the specifics on the advice covered a variety of topics – family, health, dealing with personal baggage, the overall theme was unmistakable. The great benefit of age is that it allows us to reframe our understanding of what is really important and what is wasted energy. Learning to love ourselves, owning our gifts, having the courage to pursue our passions and dreams in the context of fostering meaningful relationships are important. Living our lives to please others or avoiding pain is not.
This week’s action: Remind yourself to continually apply the lessons that you would give your 25 year old. Cleanse your ambition from anything that keeps you from pursuing what is most important and what is right for you.
